The Third Trumpet
We would simply expect "wormwood" to provide a better operation than the second trumpet. That is; "to burn like a lampstand." It should fall into the gaps left in the previous trumpet operation by intersection, so that in the sea of wider octals we find the third place of product filled by the wormwood group and also the missing third elements in the right and left hands equivalently (the fountain of waters). We may find a "better operation" but it can not be perfect because it will not preserve the octal structure (the waters are "made bitter".)
From the previous example.
a = [0,b,d,f] = [0,c,e,g]*
b = [0,c,d,g] = [0,a,e,f]
d = [0,c,e,f] = [0,a,b,g]!
c = [0,a,f,g] = [0,b,d,e]
f = [0,b,e,g] = [0,a,c,d]
g = [0,a,d,e] = [0,b,c,f]
e
= [0,a,b,c] = [0,d,f,g]£
a = [0,b,d,f] = [0,c,e,g]*
b = [0,c,e,f] = [0,a,d,g]
f = [0,c,d,g] = [0,a,b,e]
c = [0,a,d,e] = [0,b,f,g]
d = [0,b,e,g] = [0,a,c,f]$
e = [0,a,f,g] = [0,b,c,d]!
g = [0,a,b,c] = [0,d,e,f]
a = [0,c,d,g] = [0,b,e,f]!
c = [0,b,d,f] = [0,a,e,g]
d = [0,b,e,g] = [0,a,c,f]$
b = [0,a,f,g] = [0,c,d,e]
g = [0,c,e,f] = [0,a,b,d]
f = [0,a,d,e] = [0,b,c,g]
e = [0,a,b,c] = [0,d,f,g]£
We require a group with a = [0,c,d,g], d = [0,c,e,f] and e = [0,a,f,g]
We find a unique group fills the hole,. so.. marking the wormwood fills with "!"
a = [0,c,d,g] = [0,b,e,f] !
b =[0,a,d,e] = [0,c,f,g]
f = [0,a,b,c] = [0,d,e,g]
g = [0,b,d,f] = [0,a,c,e]
e = [0,a,f,g] = [0,b,c,d] !
c = [0,b,e,g] = [0,a,d,f]
d = [0,c,e,f] = [0,a,b,g] !
This fourth group fills in the gaps left by the operation in the last page. The terms need clarifying. "Rivers" feed "seas". The wormwood operation fills in the missing pieces of the "ships" of the second trumpet. Both in the "fire" part that is the basis of the wider sea - but also fills in the right hand elements also, There is a unique seven cycle that this wormwood set requires - so it is in some sense 'determined' by the wormwood 'fills' we had as above.. (The seven cycle being the "fountains of water") So the third part of all three columns becomes "wormwood".
The text states that many men died of the waters. The operations in the "fire" column are not the same - also the columns do not follow the operation of addition and multiplication through all of these groups. I warrant the operation is not secure enough for salvation; - It allows an easy slip from one group to another, but does not resemble the mystery of the seven candlesticks.
