The Little Horn And The Synagogue Of Satan
Throughout this section on the book of revelation there are numerous references to both the little horn (of Daniel's vision of the fourth and diverse beast) and also many mentions of the source of leaven as the synagogue of satan. (From the letters to the angel of the church as he makes his circuit.)
Throughout the text in this site it is held firmly that these are not the same entities, for Christ identifies the source of leaven as they which "say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie". Does God not know who the Jews are? We know in Christ Jesus that there is no longer any difference between jew and gentile in the new covenant - There is also no distinction between "saved jew" and "saved gentile" because the former office is dissolved in the kingdom of God, and those whom have been elected into the body of Christ are spiritually Israel, and not so because of an accident of birth or lack thereof.
Likewise it is meaningless to hyphenate the terms "messianic-jew" or "spiritual-gentile" when referring to those in Christ. Either one considers all saved believers as spiritually "jews" and the not saved as "spiritual gentiles" or as is more clearly the case in the revelation of Jesus Christ, believers form ALL twelve tribes of spiritual Israel, so that "spiritual jews" are 1/12 of the total. There is no "jew" or non-"jew" in Christ, but all form Israel, regardless of their racial heritage.
So, where does that lead us? It becomes evident that the source of leaven is a group of "quasi-christians" that pose as being Jews for pre-eminence, but are neither adherents to Judaism, (No one puts new wine into old bottles) or true believers in Christ. In mixing the covenants together both doctrines lose their savour. Truthfully, only the new covenant remains.
The little horn on the other hand is most commonly associated with the office of "the false prophet" but it is actually representative of the secular state of Israel we know today. Whilst the little horn is not directly referenced in the book of revelation, it has its place, albeit a minor part in the end times narrative of the revelation. Notwithstanding, the little horn is an office of antichrist, but it pales in comparison to the diverse fourth beast of Daniels vision.
So the little horn is a strictly secular power enabling a separate "mouthpiece" for religion, the synagogue of satan is therefore the christian sect used by satan to ride this little horn's effect in the churches. Therefore we may more accurately describe the little horn as "antichrist", and the source of leaven as "false prophet" or synagogue of satan. Note that the term "synagogue" is not applied from the same greek word used for "church" in the seven letters, both words mean "assembly of believers" but the term synagogue is used rather presciently in this case. Christ's assembly is truthfully spiritual Israel, and the term "synagogue" is also close to an "assembly" within the context given. (Synagogues are separate cases since the Jews had expelled Christians from attendance.)
Moving to Daniel's vision of the little horn;
Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
(KJV)
From the example in the text we can see that the "eyes" in the horn and the "mouth" belong to the source of leaven or false prophet, that have both lost their savour as Jews (or Christians that would be adherents to Judaism) and have not entered fully into Christ; whereas the little horn itself is in place whilst three horns are plucked up (Britain, the USSR and Nazi Germany.) I.e. in the days of the fall of these three empires, the little horn is present.
That "In this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things" simply refers to the fact that the device of the image is able to be set up with the presence of the little horn state, and not that Israel has the eyes and mouth itself: (So then the little horn is found to be the "means to satan's end", rather than the method or even the cause of it.) In effect we see the same removal of the restrainer spoken of by Paul in 2Thess Ch2:v6, that the little horn supplies the missing component in satans recipe, and is not in any way the source or perpetrator of this device upon God's elect in Christ. The Jews are innocent in this, folks!
The eyes of a man in the little horn are indicative of some "carnal sight", or properly "covetousness applied in oversight". (I.e. that would set up the image system of the ten kings conjugating on A5.) A mouth speaking great things is more accurately put, in the revelation context as "promising great things" i.e., great church growth. That these are found in the little horn leads us directly onto the mark of the beast (see the redux section of this revelation site area.)
The image is set up to give the appearance that the little horn has been completely removed from the scene of the woman riding the beast - the image takes the doctrine from the source of leaven and leavens the church with that doctrine by the agency of the synagogue of satan - the false prophet. The image replaces the little horn (as it is a secular power) exchanging it out and then taking it's place as the seventh mountain (head) or "church" in the system of the beast "rising up from the sea". In removing the state of Israel the false prophet achieves some measure of separation from Israel and at the same time the image carries the same doctrinal change or result as if there had been no switch. In effect, the leavening occurs with just a small perturbation from the truth - the result is free-fall for the church from God's good graces.
The image of ten kings instantiates the doctrine of the source of leaven as perceived by christians to be "lawful" in the judaism of today; (along with military support, as if it were doing God's work.) The little horn is described in revelation as "the beast that thou sawest that was and is not, even he is the eighth and is of the seven." Once the whole "church" has been leavened with the doctrine of satan through agreement with the source, the whole church is then both false prophet and image, and rides the "little horn" only - rather than the diverse and terrible fourth beast of Daniel's vision.
