Therefore we should find that there are six "churches" and one "church of rest". We indeed do so, but is the rest a due reward to Philadelphia or to Laodicea? Since the last element listed in the order of the letters is Laodicea we could be tempted to declare Philadelphia has yet to overcome and then once all the first six are overcome the seventh of Laodicea follows as an open door no one can shut: Or we could state that the angel finishes his cycle at "identity" - (where he started) and the messenger is of the Laodicean church himself! Then, If he started at Laodicea, he has along his journey become a believer whom is spiritually in Philadelphia. (which is the very last.) Either way there is an open door: and once Laodicea is overcome, whether the angel started in Laodicea or ended there he has made his works perfect (complete). Nevertheless the rest of the book of revelation is not so simple. Consider the parable of the ten virgins. The first five are foolish and the second five wise. We can and will equate the first five churches to "Laodicea" which is comprised of the five first churches in conglomerate, and the remnant of Israel, Christ's body as the sixth church, Philadelphia. The five wise virgins would be those that had plenty of oil (true doctrine) that did not run out too quickly (as in a failing doctrine such as the rapture lie that offers no true escape) The success of the remnant in obtaining the sabbath rest of Christ's approval (as did the angel of the letters) in coming out of the end-time churches by obeying the voice of God's command to be separate and not partake of the Laodicean's plagues, (equating the conglomerate with the woman riding the scarlet beast) is truly in view here. The foolish virgins that are left behind are not as the angel, which is in obedience moving towards rest in Christ - whereas the end time church is in gross disobedience and does not have the same measure of oil (doctrine) that the angel had, or as the Philadelphian remnant of the end time does. Initially the kingdom of heaven was viewed in the same manner by God as the early churches as of the letters with their angel: but in describing the end times in the gospels Jesus as part of the description of the end-time states "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins) showing that in the last days this division into Laodicean conglomerate and Philadelphian remnant is the state of affairs. Christ's commandment to the church is to do as the angel - remove himself from Laodicea and follow Him. The verse from Jeremiah states it all: Jer 49:20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them. (KJV) When the least of the flock has left, surely those greater than he that remain behind should do likewise - and surely any that are ultimately left are not the true flock, but are tares - the "place" or habitation left behind by the least is desolate of Godly authority.
