The Woman Clothed With The Sun

Again we begin with the passage from the text.

Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Rev 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (KJV)

Now, the woman with the twelve stars obviously depicts Israel, but there is the possibility of a dual-fulfilment, both leading up to the cross of Christ and also with the angel of the church as previously. There is also the qurstion as to whether the woman is spiritual Israel (the true body of Christ) or is the "church" that is seen later as the woman riding the beast.

The woman whose crown of stars (which indicates the election to Israel, see the section on the new Jerusalem later in revelation.) is clothed with the "sun" and as with the "moon" under her feet - that is she has an election into the 144 rest states of the sun octal, and she has "overcome" in that she will not transition from the sun to the stars of night (as would the moon) that form the other octals in the sea. Thsi would imply the woman is "Israel".

Now the woman pains to be delivered, both indicating the coming of Christ as the much needed messiah to physical Israel, (in fact only to His lost sheep or His elect pictured as the woman here clothed with the sun). However there is a possibility that since the woman is clothed with the sun before the "coming of Christ" then this could indicate a dual fulfilment where the angel is being delivered from the five refining churches to Philadelphia and on to rest in Christ. Now the promises of God from the OT to NT are similar as in our inheritance (the righteousness of Christ, the same yesterday today and forever), so it may not be the case that the child is the angel. (but then it may be true of both cases that the child is delivered and our inheritance assured.)

However the dragon that waits for the child to be birthed has a distinctly dual fulfilment - for the tail of the dragon present in Christ's day as described in Daniel's vision (the tail forms the sequence of kingdoms Babylon, Persia Greece and Rome) was ready to devour Christ's kingdom and supplant it (and in the death of Christ and His resurrection the Lord defeated the dragon by translating the kingdom to a spiritual one.) Similarly in the modern time line of the four horsemen of the seals there is a leading or run-up to the captivity of the believers in the churches under the rule of the beast. The birth of a child (the angel) that is the least of the flock and exits all the churches to find rest in Christ leaves an open door behind Him also - the church (left spiritually desolate) in this sense is delivered from captivity.

Then the woman fled to the wilderness - This is either in direct relation to the ministry of the two witnesses described earlier from the modern time line of the seals and trumpets, whereas in the older time line in the "age" from the cross we note that 1260 days refers to six non-identity elements of a "particular" C7 group with seven choices of unity and then mapped across 30 octals. The woman is nourished "in full" yet only on one C7 group, which indicates one correspondence to a static group per choice of unity - I.e. this verse only indicates that she is "clothed with the sun octal". She has 30 isomorphic copies of it for clothing - The "sun octal" is separated as only one of thirty - but this woman is "promised". (She has a place prepared of God.)

The 1260 days represent the 6 elements of each seven cycle in 7 groups (as churches - not eight - see the mystery of the seven churches/lampstands) across 30 octals. There is one element missing - the identity or unity element common to all the octal groups. This mapping from all 1260 days onto the identity or unity (rest) element is the help or sustainance the woman receives in the wilderness.

What promise? - the place of God prepared to be sure,.. but remember that "30" octals is only a factor to multiply 42 with. The text states that after the Christ has been resurrected in the first time line (delivered) then the woman is prepared for dwelling with God. However in the modern time line we see that the people of God are to dwell separately to be fed by God (as in the wilderness.)

In the new time line we would have the two witnesses instead. What is important is the subtle differences that are in the text describing the dragon whom employs the same devices to fulfil the mystery of iniquity.
